Hi I’m najat…

Hi I’m Najat, founder of Merton Health & Fitness, proud Mum to 3 wonderful teenagers and a very experienced and passionate Fitness Professional.

I’ve spent over 25 years working in the fitness industry, managing gyms, managing teams of personal trainers, personal training and teaching a huge variety of exercise classes in London and Australia.

Over 12 years ago, whilst taking a break from teaching to raise my 3 young children I discovered Pilates. Pilates helped me control an anxiety disorder I was suffering from at the time, as well as regain strength in my core and pelvic floor after having 3 children so close together. I was hooked and fell in love with the method instantly and decided to train as a mat based, small equipment, Ante & Postnatal and reformer Pilates Instructor.

For health benefits no other fitness method compares to Pilates.

Merton Health & Fitness started in 2015. During the past 9 years we have taught Pilates, Fitclub, Ante and Postnatal Exercise, and Stretch and Meditation classes and reformer Pilates to hundreds of local ladies, men and children. Many of our original clients still train with us. 

In 2020, thanks to COVID, we went digital. Teaching Pilates to up to a hundred clients every week online via zoom during lockdowns. This is a popular service we continue to offer at Merton Health & Fitness. 

I’m very happy that at Merton Health & Fitness I can now use my expertise in Pilates, Personal Training, Ante and Postnatal Exercise and Stretch and Meditation to develop our clients in all areas, Mind, Body & Soul. 

Health & Fitness is a journey not a destination. We are all a work in progress. I’m very proud of the wonderful, friendly, supportive community we have built at Merton Health & Fitness, that you are all welcome to join.
